6) Thanksgiving break

Thanksgiving break is finally here. It is a much needed break for me. I am mostly excited about getting to eat real food. No offense to the CAF but that food got old fast and i cant go eat out all the time. The other good thing about going home is hanging out with some old friends that have gone off to other colleges.
The other main thing i will get to do is take a break from my classes and homeork. I might get to replace those with some college football and basketball. Thats only if i can get the remote from my visiting family. That will be the interesting part of my Thanksgiving, sticking it out with the long distance family.
Overall it should be both a fun and relaxing break. Catching up on some much needed sleep and rest and getting that break away from school. I know i will definately enjoy this break, especially after being up here without a long break since before football season.

5) Practice is over

Now that the season is over and we have no more practices till spring i am starting to see a lot of things change. I didnt realize how much time i would have after my practices were over. It is hard to find things to do after studying and doin homework. Do not get me wrong, it is a great feeling to be off for the rest of the day.
My only problem is trying to find something better to do with my time after my classes are over. The school does offer an assortment of things to do i just never get active with them. This is another one of my problems.
Maybe after getting all this time i will be able to increase my grades some more. I also think that maybe i can pick up my performance in class. These would be some major benefits for me after less time going to football during school, especially with final exams coming up.

4) MC's Christian enviroment

Mississippi College's Christian enviroment is definately something that has caught my attention since i have began school here. They have provided me with multiple chances to further enrich my faith. This is one thing I strongly agree with in the mission statement, the part were it says they provide a quality Christian education.
Mississippi College provides me with a chapel class that i have learned a lot from. They also give you multiple opportunites with religion classes. This is something that will provide me with the chances to get closer to my faith.
I know some might not agree with me on this, but i believe this is something that the school wants to focus on. This is also there strong point or at least i think. Those are not the only ways to find faith at this school its in all the activities around campus to. You just have to look.

3) Doing my service hours

About a month ago i got the chance to do my first service hours at this school. I actually did not mind doing it either. I think the main reason it did not bother me was because i had the choice to pick my service options. This made it a lot easier to work around my schedule.
The choice i decided on was to help at the BVC. I helped get envelopes ready to send out. Then we helped move some heavier recyclable products around. After this we helped move some heavy boxes for the ladies there.
This ended up helping them a lot more than we realized. This helped me appreciate the work that we assisted the people working there with. It was a good experience for me and i got a lot from it. This shows me how MC gets involved with the community around them through service.

First football game of the season

The first game of the football season was a big one for all of us on the team. It was against our rival Millsaps. This game showed me alot about the school I had just began attending. There was a lot of pride shown which let me know that there was social and emotional development at our school.
As we walked onto the field the enviroment was amazing. There was a lot more fans then i had anticipated for our first game of the season. The fans were wearing our colors, blue and gold, and screamig as loud as they could. This is how i realized the mission statement was right when it said it develops students emotionally. The social aspect that i could see were all the students attending the game. A lot of the tribes and clubs were there too.
These are just a few reasons that i could tell this school followed its mission statement. These are some positive things for the sports programs here to. So maybe now i can have some positive outlook towards my future here.
